Classes & Workshops

Check out our current and upcoming dance classes listed below. Students taking any weekday class can attend our Weekly Tuesday Open Dance for FREE.

What class should I take?
Introduction to Swing is a 1 week class to get you oriented to swing dance footwork, rhythms and partner connection.  After that you you should take Beginning Swing for the rest of the month.
Beginning Swing is different every month.  We encourage people to take these classes for 1-6 months.
Other classes expect you to be familiar with the skills learned in Beginning Swing.  If you\'re not sure if you are ready for a class, check in with the instructor or email us to ask.

Beginning Swing - February - Tuesdays
Tuesdays  Feb 14 - Feb 28
6:30pm - 7:30pm
  • Click Here For Class Description

This class is for students who have already taken the Introduction to Swing class (Feb 7)  at Vermont Swings, or another beginning level swing dance course. This class is appropriate for beginning level swing students with any amount of experience, whether they've been dancing for one week or two years. We will learn classic moves, drill and reinforce technique, posture, and connection, and have a lot of fun!

The separate first Tuesday class (Introduction to Swing) on February 7th is a single session, hour long class for those that are new to swing dancing. It introduces the fundamentals that anyone should first learn when learning to swing dance, such as posture, rhythm, footwork, connection, and history.

The following three Tuesdays (Feb. 14, 21 and 28) are a progressive beginning swing class where beginning level students can reinforce the concepts introduced in the Introduction to Swing class (posture, rhythm, footwork, connection, etc), as well as learn common moves. For this class students are expected to attend all three weeks as this is not a drop-in class, unless you are a comfortable beginning level swing dancer and have taken several classes at Vermont Swings or another swing dance studio, and have instructor approval ahead of time.

NOTE: This class is being moved to the large ballroom, so there is no longer any limitation on enrollment or waistlist. We would still prefer if you to pre-register on this website, however.

    No partner required to register.

    Teacher: Eric Recchia

Cost: $40 per person for the 3-week series or $15 per class (Student with ID $10)

Prerequisites: the Introduction to swing class, previously taken another beginner swing class, or instructor approval

Please bring a change of clean, soft-soled, non-marking shoes to protect our wooden dance floor.

Pre-register on this page. Vaccinations and masking are encouraged, but are no longer required.
